Getting Around by Water

Cars in my country are kings! therefore the philosophy of using a water transportatoin method has been less used in the country however in Dubai it still exists because of our great Dubai creek and the strategic role it plays in linking Deira with the rest of the Dubai. Water taxis in Arabic are called Abras.

Abras are a great way to experience the beautiful views of the city especially in the winter months. Although atleast 15,000 people use theAbra as a transportation method to cross the creek because it links together Deira and Bur Dubai. They are operational from 5 am to 12 am.So if you feel like watching the sunrise in the winter days, i highly suggest you do so on an Abra as the views and reflection of the sun against the sea is beautiful beyond words.
